truck drivers may be less-than-professional; the company's representatives are
going to be less honest, apologetic and upfront; and the overall experience is
going to be costly, unpleasant, and a waste of time.
Delayed Shipment: The other
services offered by a mediocre company are bound to be in sync with the
customer service, so processing orders may take longer than usual.
Subsequently, the shipment will be delayed until a later date, inconveniencing
customers who rely on quick turnaround.
Damaged Items: Because a subpar
company will most likely be behind schedule, it is safe to assume that everything
and everyone will be rushed, which is a recipe for disaster in the shipping
industry. With truck drivers focusing on delivery and paying less attention to
the condition of the items being shipped, new furniture can become damaged to
some degree, completely defeating the purpose of ordering it.
Furniture,
regardless of how it is made or packaged, can only endure so much before it
starts to deteriorate -- literally or in terms of value.

I ordered and paid for a IComfort Prodigy Bed from SERTA via phone on Dec 23rd. The bed total was $2,900. I was told I would have the new bed in 10-14 days. All I received from SERTA was a frame in a box via mail. I called to see what was going on, on Jan3, 2014 I was told they were unable to get the Mattress to me until Jan 14th!!!! Here we are on Jan 14th, 2014 getiing a delivery made between the hours of 2:30pm and 6:00pm. I left work EARLY to make sure I was home. They arrived a 3:15pm. They carried the new mattress into my room in boxes and placed them against my wall and wanted me to sign the paperwork for the delivery. I told them I was told I would have a "White Glove Delivery". Which is a LIE that SERTA says they offer but evidentally doesnt offer. This so called "White Glove Delivery" promises their customers that they will take out your old mattress and dispose of it and will set up your new frame and new mattress. The delivery man from a Delivery company called "New Latitude/Home Direct USA" that was representing SERTA said " that is a LIE that SERTA tells their customers all the time, we dont put any frames together". I called SERTA Customer service several times to be placed on hold several times. I finally was able to reach a person who said they were a Supervisor "Marquetta". She said I was suppose to have a "White Glove Delivery" and she spoke with the delivery Supervisor and Driver. The Driver then went into my room and took the new IComfort Bed and dragged out of my room down the stairs and through my front yard and said "We don't get paid to set-up bed frames. I asked them not to leave but they did with my new bed!!!!! I called SERTA back to let them know what just conspired they appologized by offering me a PILLOW!!!!! They said there hands were tied that now that the delivery driver is gone it will be another week before they can come again. I was appalled. I then called Home Direct USA/New Latitude and asked for there supervisor. I spoke with him and he said "I'm sorry for the misinformation, but my drivers dont put together any frames and that SERTA says they offer this services but they dont". I asked him can the delivery driver please come back and he said "No they are onto there next call".
I'm 32yo Nurse Marketer with a Large Business and with a husband thats an army veteran and 3 children. I have NEVER experienced such bad services as the past few weeks. I am emotionally drained and very disappointed in SERTA's Services and they continue to do business with second and third party delivery companies that are representing them very wrongly. I would not recommend ordering a bed from them AT ALL. I would purchase a bed from another company that does what there going to say they do. SERTA's and Home Direct USA.com websites offer all these great services but there all LIES. Please dont waist your time, money or energy dealing with this company like I have. As of today Jan 14th I STILL dont have a mattress from them. Very disappointing.
